1.Nitrates (e.g., nitroglycerin, isosorbide dinitrate): Cialis and nitrates both lower blood pressure. Taking them together can cause a significant and potentially life-threatening drop in blood pressure (hypotension), leading to dizziness, fainting, or even heart attack or stroke. It is contraindicated to use Cialis with nitrates or recreational "poppers" (amyl nitrites).
2.Alpha-blockers (e.g., prazosin, terazosin, tamsulosin): Both Cialis and alpha-blockers relax blood vessels, which can lead to excessive blood pressure reduction when used together. This may result in dizziness, fainting, or orthostatic hypotension (a sudden drop in blood pressure when standing). If needed, your doctor may adjust the dosage or recommend spacing the medications.
3.Other antihypertensive drugs (e.g., atenolol, propranolol, enalapril, lisinopril): Cialis can enhance the blood-pressure-lowering effects of these medications. While this interaction is usually less severe than with nitrates or alpha-blockers, it can still cause dizziness or fainting in sensitive individuals. Close monitoring of blood pressure is recommended.
Cialis (tadalafil) can interact with certain foods and beverages, potentially altering its effectiveness or increasing the risk of side effects. Here are the key drug-food interactions to be aware of:
Grapefruit and grapefruit juice: The presence of a grapefruit product can affect blood pressure by altering its biochemical profile.
Alcohol: While not a direct interaction, combining Cialis with a alcohol-containing diet might worsen side effects like headaches or increase heart rate in sensitive individuals.
C. Grapefruit or grapefruit juice: While Grapefruit can affect blood pressure by altering its biochemical profile, grapefruit products can increase side effects such as headaches or increase blood pressure levels. Seek medical advice before using grapefruit or grapefruit juice while consuming this interaction.
D. Combining Cialis and other medications: Cialis, like any medication, can interact with blood pressure-lowering medications, increasing side effects. Combining this with a diet that reduces alcohol intake and certain medications requires a medical consultation. Avoid combining Cialis with medications using the same active ingredient.

A new report from the New York State Department of Health suggests that men who use the popular erectile dysfunction drug Viagra (Sildenafil) should stop taking their drugs because the drug is associated with a dangerous and potentially life-threatening side effect called "impotence."
The report was released Friday by a special committee that includes health care professionals, physicians, pharmacists and a variety of sexual health specialists.
The findings are based on a nationwide survey of more than 1,500 adult men, researchers said.
"The use of Viagra (Sildenafil) is associated with a higher incidence of erectile dysfunction (ED) compared to other erectile dysfunction medications," said Dr. Steven Nissen, Ph. D., director of the Department of Urology at the Mayo Clinic. "A high incidence of ED in this population could have significant implications for patients."
The National Institute on Drug Abuse and Control, or NIDA, says the drug has been linked to "major sexual problems" such as impotence and erectile dysfunction.
"In addition to these major sexual problems, Viagra may be associated with an increased risk of developing aseptic meningitis and aseptic meningitis," said Dr. Nissen. "The use of Viagra may also increase the risk of developing aseptic meningitis or aseptic meningitis with the potential for aseptic meningitis in some patients."
Viagra, also known as sildenafil, is a popular drug for treating erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation.
"It can cause serious side effects, including priapism, which can cause permanent erectile dysfunction," NIDA said.
The drug can cause other adverse effects such as a rare heart attack and a stroke, which are serious and could be fatal.
The drug may also cause a rare condition called Raynaud's phenomenon, which occurs when the arteries become narrow or stiff, causing the heart to beat faster and more irregularly.
The drug can also cause a rare condition called "chronic venous insufficiency."
Researchers do not know whether Viagra affects men who also take nitrates.
